Crystal Lake, IL (Illinois) Orthodontist Robert Hoffman, DDS, MS

Dr. Rob Hoffman, a native of the northwest suburbs of Chicago, received his dental education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Hoffman graduated Cum Laude from the honors program at the School of Dentistry and was awarded the highest score on the National Board Exam. He then practiced general and cosmetic dentistry for three years before returning to complete his orthodontic training. Dr. Hoffman completed his residency at Loma Linda University in Southern California. He received his Master's degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and served as an assistant faculty member while at Loma Linda. After practicing orthodontics in Los Angeles and Kansas City, Dr. Hoffman decided to return to the northwest suburbs of Chicago to open a practice near his family.

Dr. Hoffman is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Illinois State Dental Society. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, which puts him in an elite group of orthodontists who are board certified. Dr. Hoffman has also been a part of Invisalign's Clinical Advisory Board and has conducted research for Invisalign and several other orthodontic companies. In 2005, he was awarded premier provider status by Invisalign which puts him in the top 5% nationally for all Invisalign practitioners. In 2008, he achieved Premier Provider Elite status from Invisalign which places him in the top 1% in the world! His research has been published in American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Hoffman utilizes the latest technology which allows the lightest forces possible to move the teeth to their ideal location with minimal discomfort. He positions the teeth to give not only the best smile possible, but also the best facial esthetics as well. Dr. Hoffman most enjoys getting to know his patients and developing a strong relationship with them as they see their smile improve and their self-confidence and self-esteem grow.

Dr. Hoffman currently lives in the Northwest suburbs with his wife, Jane, his two sons, Tyler and Charlie, and his daughter, Kate. When he is not working, Dr. Hoffman enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. They enjoy, hiking, biking and playing golf as well as just relaxing around the house. You can often find them on the local bike paths or enjoying one of the nearby lakes.
